Forgenet Technologies, located in Edmonton Alberta, has launched a website (Arkonn Vehicle Intelligence or http://arkonn.ca) today. The website is designed to offer the same kind of market intelligence to the consumer that has previously only been made available for automotive Dealerships. The Auto Industry has many different tools at their disposal to ensure that they are priced according to market standards, to ensure that vehicles that they are purchasing are damage or claim-free. Why shouldn’t similar tools be available to the consumer?
“Shopping for a pre-owned vehicle is difficult enough these days. Spending hours looking around online to find that ‘perfect’ vehicle and then going down to the dealership to try and haggle out a price that you are comfortable with is always a struggle” claims Corey Pearson, the CEO of Forgenet Technologies. One of the largest complaints that consumers have when purchasing a vehicle is that they never know if they actually received a fair deal. Arkonn hopes to eliminate that feeling.
Pearson states that the idea for Arkonn came to him one day while watching a show on television that was talking about cataloging and gathering intelligence on people. “If there are systems out there that can gather intelligence on people, why can’t I make one to do the same thing with cars?” He says.
When asked why he wasn’t planning on charging the public anything to use the services, Pearson stated that the service provided by Arkonn is a service he believes is owed to the consumer rather than something they should pay for. Revenue from ads on the system will help to keep the site functioning, with a portion of the system designed to help dealerships and importers source and buy specific vehicles. “The Advertising and clients we have using the system for purchasing vehicles is where our revenue comes from”. As stated above, consumers have a difficult enough time as is. Why not give them a break?
Arkonn Vehicle Intelligence functions by constantly roaming the internet, tracking down all of the vehicles that it can find, bringing them into one central location where they can be cataloged and searched through. When searching across many websites, you always run into the same vehicles shown on different sites around the internet. Arkonn’s proprietary algorithm constantly scans the database to identify and merge any duplicate vehicles. Arkonn collects information like: Current locations found online, Pricing changes and trends, Mileage changes and trends, how many times that particular vehicle has been sold, what provinces it has been located in and much more. It’s a system designed to handle the tedious research that typically comes with purchasing a vehicle, so the consumer can have a more organized and streamline shopping experience.
Consumers using Arkonn Vehicle Intelligence to search for their next vehicle and get the Used Vehicle History can not only look forward to real-time data and intelligence on the vehicles that they are looking at, but can also see local market data to ensure that when they do purchase, they have the peace of mind knowing that they received a fair deal. Which, in Corey Pearson’s mind, is how vehicle shopping should be.
